Volunteers

Volunteer

If you would like to serve at one or more of the camps this summer, please see the following lists of needs and contact your local church for background screening and permission. Each church may have a different process of screening, but because of the number of volunteers we use each week it is impossible for us to know the character of each individual. We ask each church to take responsibility for knowing the character of every volunteer they send.

Requirements

Faith: Must be an avid follower of Christ involved and in good standing with the local Assemblies of God church.
Age: Must be 18 at the time of service.
Character: The local church must be able to confidently endorse the volunteers ability to serve at camp and be around minors.
Time: Volunteers are asked to be present for the entire week of camp.
Cost: At this time there is no cost to the individual or the church for the volunteers. However, not all volunteers are accepted if all of the needs are met.
Vacancies: Should a church be unable to find volunteers to lead their campers they may request the assistance of another SDAG church for a partnership. This arrangement must take place prior to arrival at camp. Parents must be informed that their children will be under the care of someone from another church.

Volunteer Needs

Guides: Individuals who have close mentoring relationships with the campers
Kitchen: People who will cook, serve, and clean in the cafeteria
Recreation: Those who will setup and run the activities of camp
Support Staff: Individuals who will serve in a variety of roles such as first aid provider or life guard.
